‘Virat creating theatre down under’: Kevin Pietersen on Kohli’s varied run-ins in the IND vs AUS 4th Test | Cricket News

While Virat Kohli is under scrutiny due to his form and the controversy surrounding the Sam Konstas shoulder barging incident, England’s Kevin Pietersen said that the Test series would be pretty boring with the former India captain.
“Virat creating theatre down under! Let’s GO! Imagine how boring it would be without the showman! And he’s earned EVERYTHING with his runs over his career! Many would end their successful international careers with a 1/4 of what he’s achieved,” Pietersen posted on X.
On Day 1 of the 4th Test, Kohli grabbed the headlines because of a shoulder to shoulder collision with debutant Konstas, whose risky stroke-play was causing enormous frustration for the fielding side.

The 19-year-old Konstas and 36-year-old Kohli exchanged words after the collision. A visibly angry Kohli started walking back towards Konstas before umpire Michael Gough and Khawaja hurried over to settle things down between the pair.
Kohli was fined only 20 per cent of his match fee and received one demerit point for the incident.
On the 2nd Day, Kohli made the headlines again when he had a mix-up with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the middle, leading to the opener getting run out.
Jaiswal had pushed the ball to mid-off fielder and ran for a single and Kohli after responding to the call initially and taking couple of steps, looked back to see where the ball was and refrained from taking the single and returned to his crease. Meanwhile Jaiswal had already crossed half of the pitch with both the batters ending up at the non-striker’s end resulting in Jaiswal’s runout.
Kohli would also depart a few deliveries later after attempting to fish at a delivery outside off-stump.

As he was making his way to the pavilion, Kohli was booed and jeered, prompting him to turn around for a brief stand-off with the fans, as per a viral video.
