Virat Kohli: ‘A broadcast show needs to talk about the game not my favourite chole bhature place in Delhi’ | Cricket News

Virat Kohli has blasted broadcasters for discussing his personal life or his favourite dish instead of talking about cricket during the match.
“A broadcast show needs to talk about the game and not what I ate yesterday for lunch or my favourite chole-bhature place in Delhi,” Virat Kohli said at the Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit.
“You can’t have that in cricket matches. Rather, you could talk about what an athlete is going through.”

Kohli said the broadcasters must highlights the stories about the athletes rather than talking about someone’s personal life.
“We are working towards India becoming a sports-forward nation. We have the vision. We have the groundwork happening today.
“It should be a collective responsibility of everyone involved. It’s not just about the infrastructure or the people who infuse the money. It’s also about the people who watch. We need education.”
Virat Kohli ended his T20 career with a World Cup win. But something far bigger has appeared on the horizon, and it is exciting enough to pull the biggest visible name in cricket to come out of retirement – the Olympic gold. Story continues below this ad
“When I heard the news, I was happy. The T20 leagues that are played all over the world, including the IPL (Indian Premier League), have played a massive role. It’s a great opportunity. Getting to be Olympic champions would be a great thing. The first of its kind. I am sure we will be somewhere close to the medal,” Kohli said.
Virat Kohli also gave a sneak peek into his future plans and retirement talk as he candidly admitted that another tour to Australia might not be left in the tank for the 36-year-old.
“It pretty much comes down to just the pure joy, enjoyment, competitive streak, and love for the game. And as long as that is there, I will continue to play. As I said today, I am not playing for any achievement,” Kohli said.
