Virat Kohli mauls SRH with sixth IPL hundred, draws level with Chris Gayle
Another day, another Virat Kohli record. The former India and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain on Thursday got level with Chris Gayle in the tally for most IPL hundreds, scoring his sixth in an eight-wicket battering of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The RCB opener would bring his century in style with a loft over deep mid wicket for a six, inducing a loud roar from the crowd at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium before Bhuvneshwar Kumar dismissed him off the very next delivery with a short one. In an innings that lasted for 63 deliveries, Kohli managed to strike 12 fours and fours maximums.
It was a first hundred in the IPL for Kohli after four years. His first had come in 2016, a season in which the then RCB skipper had managed to score over 900 runs including four tons. Overall, it was a seventh T20 hundred for Kohli, who had scored one against Afghanan during the Asia Cup last year.

Coming in to open alongside Faf du Plessis (71), Kohli was on the offensive from the word go. The duo stitched together a 172-run stand for the first wicket off 107 deliveries.
Earlier, Heinrich Klaasen had also regered his first triple figure score in the IPL, amassing 104 off 51 deliveries to propel Hyderabad to 186/5 in their quota of 20 overs.
