NEW DELHI: Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli is on the cusp of adding another feather to his illustrious cap. The 29 year old, who many consider to be the best batsman in world cricket currently, is all set to become just the fifth Indian batsman and 13th overall to score 10,000 runs in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
Kohli will have a chance to achieve the feat when India kick-off their ODI campaign against the West Indies, starting October 21 at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. India are scheduled to play five ODIs against the West Indies at home.
Kohli, who has 9779 runs in 211 ODIs at an average of 58.20, is just 221 runs short of reaching the milestone of 10,000 ODI runs.
If Kohli manages to score 221, he will become the fifth Indian batsman after master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and Mahendra Singh Dhoni to achieve this incredible feat.
