Virat Kohli pens heartwarming note for Rahul Dravid: ‘Never imagined the journey would bring us back here’

Virat Kohli remembers the last time India played a Test against the West Indies in Roseau, Dominica. 12 years back. Only one more player part of that lineup has currently traveled with the Indian squad for the upcoming series other than the former India skipper. Head coach Rahul Dravid.
On Sunday, Kohli took to his Instagram to post a picture with the Dravid captioned, “The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful.”
Back then, India managed to draw the third and final Test of the series to clinch it 1-0. While it was the debut Test series for a young Virat Kohli, who had already won an U19 and an ODI World Cup, it marked the last time Dravid played a Test match in the Caribbean.
India’s next assignment, which will be their first following the World Test Championship Final defeat against Australia, will be a two-Test, three-ODI and a five-T20I tour.
For the Windies, the series comes in the immediate aftermath of an early ICC World Cup qualifiers exit that meant a first miss out on the men’s ODI World Cup since the 1975 edition.
West Indies’ performance mentor and former skipper Brian Lara however believes that his team stands chance to challenge the visitors.

“We have two very important Test matches which start the two-year cycle (World Test Championships) for us, it is against India. At home and away from home, they are one of the top teams in the world,” said Lara ahead of the first Test starting Wednesday, July 12.
