Virat Kohli, Sachin Tendulkar, Neeraj Chopra among other sportspersons to offer condolences, react to terror attack in Pahalgam | Sports News

The Indian sporting fraternity joined the nation in condemning the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, which took the lives of at least 28 people on Tuesday. Several prominent names in Indian sport took to social media as they expressed their heartbreak and offered prayers for the families of those who lost their lives.
Indian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bengaluru star Virat Kohli took to Instagram as he posted an emotional message on his IG story. “Deeply saddened the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act”. Kohli’s partner Anushka Sharma also condemned the incident through her Instagram story.
Olympic athletes PV Sindhu and Neeraj Chopra also reacted to the attack, as they voiced their emotional dress and support for the victims. “Heartbroken the tragic attack in Jammu & Kashmir. Prayers for the victims and their families”, wrote Chopra on X. Sindhu’s post read, “My heart aches for the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. So much pain. So much loss. No reason, no cause can ever justify such brutality. To the families left behind—your grief is beyond words, but you are not alone.We are with you. In these dark moments, may we find strength in each other, and never let go of the hope that peace will return!”.

Indian cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar also posted on X in the wake of the attack on civilians. “Shocked and deeply saddened the tragic attacks on innocent people in Pahalgam. The affected families must be going through an unimaginable ordeal – India and the world stand united with them at this dark hour, as we mourn the loss of lives and pray for justice.” wrote Sachin.

Reacting to the incident, former Indian cricket team captain Anil Kumble also shared a heartfelt message. “Heartbreaking to hear about the tragic attack in Pahalgam. Innocent lives lost to senseless violence. Praying for strength and peace for the affected families. Let’s stand together against hate.” wrote Kumble.

Former Olympic Badminton athlete Saina Nehwal posted on the platform as well, with her post reading, “The Pahalgam terror attack is a heartbreaking reminder of the threats we continue to face. My prayers are with the brave souls we lost and their families. To those spreading fear — know that India stands united, and justice will prevail. Jai Hind.”
Several other prominent names in sport, like former Indian International Suresh Raina, Member of Parliament and former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh, shuttler Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill also shared their condolences following the attack.
