Virat Kohli was concerned about a personal milestone, batted slowly to reach fifty: Simon Doull slams RCB batter

IPL 2023: Virat Kohli hit a fine half-century to power Royal Challengers Bangalore to 212/2. However, the total did not prove enough as Lucknow Super Giants chased it down on the last ball of the game on Monday.

Kohli took the centre stage with his 44-ball 61-run knock, as he shared a 96-run stand for the first wicket after being sent into bat.
After a sedate start, Kohli smashed Avesh Khan for a six and four in consecutive deliveries in the second over to up the tempo.
Avesh was again at the receiving end of Kohli’s wrath as the former India captain clobbered the bowler for three boundaries in the fourth over.
High on confidence, Kohli then pulled Krunal Pandya over the fence in the next over.
Kohli was at his best as he hit straight over Mark Wood’s head for a boundary and then pulled the bowler over deep midwicket for a maximum.

He was batting on 42, which is also the most Kohli inside Powerplay in an IPL game.
But from thereon he took 10 balls to reach his fifty and this did not go unnoticed as commentator Simon Doull pointed it out on air and said, “Kohli was concerned about a personal milestone.”
“He took 10 balls to score eight runs.”
“Started off like a train, took 10 balls from 42-50 runs,” Doull added.
Kohli eventually brought up his fifty with a single off Ravi Bishnoi in the ninth over after playing 35 balls.
