The game between the United States and Ireland was washed out on Friday in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. The result meant the USA qualified for the Super Eight from Group A alongside India and Pakan got eliminated from the competition.
Former Pakan cricketer Wasim Akram took a jibe at the Pakan team speaking on ICC. “For Pakan, what’s the plan? EK 601 (flight number) to Dubai, to their respective cities. From then, we will see what happens,” he said. Pakan has a game in hand against Ireland on Sunday however, despite winning the game will take them to only four points meanwhile the USA after all their games is on five points.

In what was the first-ever game between them in international cricket, the USA beat Pakan in the Super Over. Winning the toss and opting to bowl first, USA bowlers managed to restrict Pakan for 159/7 in their 20 overs quota. With five runs required off the last ball, Nitish Kumar scored a four over mid off to level the scores.
Mohammad Amir took the ball for Pakan in the Super Over and conceded 19 runs which included seven wides in the over. However, USA’s Saurabh Netravalkar kept his composure and picked the wicket of Iftikhar Ahmed, and helped the USA win five runs.
