Watch: Audible boos at Parc des Princes as Lionel Messi’s name is announced for PSG vs Rennes

There were audible boos at the Parc des Princes when Argentine superstar Lionel Messi’s name was announced prior to Paris Saint Germain’s match against Rennes. However, it was not all doom and gloom as there were also huge cheers which accompanied the jeering.
the development comes after it was reported Mundo Deportivo earlier this week that the fans were planning to whle at Messi after their Champions League exit against Bayern Munich.
“We will whle at Messi this Sunday. He has too high a salary in relation to what he offers on the pitch,” a member of PSG’s ultra group had said.

PSG ultras have found Messi to be the most guilty for their Champions League round of 16 loss as he failed to make an impact across both legs of the tie.
The fans are also upset about his contract situation and had accused the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner for not committing himself as fully to collective efforts at club level.
With no extension to his deal in France signed, Messi is about to become a target for disgruntled supporters.
However, PSG director Luis Campos had confirmed that the club remain in talks with Lionel Messi regarding a contract extension in France.
“At the moment, we are in discussions with Messi for his extension. I would like to keep him in this project, I can’t hide it. We are talking at the moment to achieve this goal, and continue to have him with us,” he told Telefoot.
