Visitors Al Taawoun stunned the home fans when defender Waleed Al-Ahmed turned in a corner in the 71st minute. Though Al Taawoun came close to doubling their lead, Waleed Al-Ahmed’s heroic moment briefly faded away when he tackled down Al-Nassr’s Mohammed Maran inside the box to hand Ronaldo a golden penalty opportunity.
This wasn’t the first time Ronaldo had broken someone’s phone with the Portuguese superstar being previously engulfed in a raging controversy when he apparently smashed a teenage fan’s phone after his Manchester United team had lost to Everton in 2022.
Video footage appeared to show Ronaldo angrily slapping the phone out of the boy’s hand as he walked down the tunnel after United’s 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park in April. The boy’s mother said he had been left with a bruised hand and his phone screen had been smashed. Ronaldo was cautioned the police in August and charged with improper conduct England’s Football Association (FA) in September.
