Watch: Fans gather in numbers at Kotla as Virat Kohli returns to play for Delhi against Railways | Cricket News

Indian star batter Virat Kohli has returned to play for Delhi for the first time since 2012 earlier this week against Railways. The fans have been excited at the return of the 36-year-old back in domestic cricket and have queued up to watch him.
Gate numbers 16 and 17 which were allocated earlier for entry were not enough as a result, Gate number 18 too had to be opened to accommodate safe entry.
“Fans are in numbers outside Gate No 16 and 17 of the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Police are facing it difficult to keep the crowd in check. The crowd is at par with any IPL match. The chant of RCB RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru is the side Kohli represents in the Indian Premier League) can be heard from inside the metro station,” said The Indian Express reporter Pratyush Raj from Kotla.

The DDCA secretary also said that they have requested the Delhi Police to beef up security.
“This is not a normal Ranji Trophy match. Apna Cheeku (Kohli’s nickname) khel raha hai (Our Cheeku is playing). We have requested the Delhi Police to help us with more extra police force for the next four days. We’ll also have our own private security as well,” he said.
When asked if the DDCA are planning to felicitate Kohli before the match, the secretary said: “This is not his last match. There is no such plan.”
