A fire on the mainstage of Tomorrowland festival in Belgium’s Antwerp has completely destroyed the venue, just a day before the event where thousands of people were bound to gather for the electronic dance music (edm) as the organisers said that there were no injuries reported in the incident.
Though organisers for the electronic dance music festival have said that they would still go ahead with the event over the next two weekends. Videos and photos posted on social media showed a thick plume of smoke engulfing the stage and the event arean while spreading to near woodland.

Organisers of the event, in a post on their website said “Due to a serious incident and fire on the Tomorrowland Mainstage, our beloved Mainstage has been severely damaged. We can confirm that no one was injured during the incident.” The statement added that the focus of the organising team was now on “finding solutions” for the music festival.
Among the arts scheduled to perform in the music festival include David Guetta, Lost Frequencies, Swedish House Mafia and Charlotte De Witte, reported BBC.

According to an employee who was working on the affected site, the fire turned the arena of the music festival into “an apocalyptic scene”. The employee added “We were just putting the finishing touches on it. One more day and it will be finished. Four weeks of work… gone in half an hour,” as per Het Nieuwsblad newspaper.
Firefighters, emergency responders have been working throughout to contain the fire which has spread to near homes and forest. A few residents have also been reportedly evacuated after the fire engulfed the Tomorrowland festival stage.
