WATCH: Kuldeep Yadav leaves Alex Carey clueless, cleans up the left-hander with a sharp turner
With the series level at 1-1 going into the third and final ODI, India dismissed Australia for 269 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday. Winning the toss, the visitors opted to bat first and got off to a flying start in the powerplay as openers Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh added 61 runs in the first 10 overs.
Australia however, lost wickets at regular intervals with Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav leading the way with three wickets each. The Left-arm chinaman would produce one of the highlights of the innings with his delivery to dismiss Alex Carey in the 39th over.
Going over the wicket to the southpaw, Kuldeep pitched one, slower through the air, on the leg stump before it drifted sharply back in to clip the top of off stump, beating an outside edge.

“I played the India A series here, so I knew the wicket was slow, so I was trying to spin the ball more,” Kuldeep told Star Sports after the innings. “Those were important wickets and especially I loved the one against Alex Carey. I have been working on it, trying to bowl within the wickets, from there if I can spin the ball, so there is a lot of chance to get caught behind, there is a chance to get top-edge on slog just like David Warner did.”
Kuldeep finished with bowling figures of 3/56 in his 10 over quota, also bagging the wickets of David Warner and Marcus Stoinis.
For Australia, Marsh (47 off 47) was the leading run scorer, as he is so far in the series with two fifties other than his knock in Chennai.
