WATCH: Marcus Stoinis bumps into Virat Kohli during the 3rd IND-AUS ODI

With an ODI series win at stake, the third India-Australia ODI had all the ingredients for being a spicy contest. Especially after Australia put a target of 270 on board for the hosts.
After a vital 65-run stand for the first wicket, India lost Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill in quick succession. Virat Kohli (53 off 69) would then step up to stabilise the innings.
It was during his innings that Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis got into it with the former India captain, bumping into Kohli during the 21st over as he went back to take his run up following the third delivery.

The incident would provoke loud reaction from the fans at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai while Kohli would also give Stoinis a stare.
Earlier, having won the toss Australia opted to bat first and got off to a flying start in the powerplay as openers Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh added 61 runs in the first 10 overs.

However, the visitors would then lose wickets at regular intervals with Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav leading the way with three wickets each. Axar Patel and Mohammed Siraj also bagged a couple of wickets each.
For Australia, Marsh (47 off 47) was the leading run scorer, as he is so far in the series with two fifties other than his knock in Chennai.
