Watch: Marnus Labuschagne on receiving end of bizarre dismissal in IND vs AUS 1st ODI | Cricket News
Marnus Labuschagne was at the receiving end of a rather bizarre dismissal when he was adjudged stumped off Ravichandran Ashwin’s delivery during India vs Australia 1st ODI.
In the 33rd over of the match, Labuschagne who was looking well-set in the middle, tried to play a reverse sweep but could not connect properly and there was a chance for keeper KL Rahul to catch it. But the ball dipped and hit the pads of the keeper and bounced off it and dislodged the bails.
There was a chance of stumping with the commentators and the players all looking confused. It was sent upstairs and the replays showed that Labuschagne’s backfoot was on the line when the ball hit the stumps. Ultimately after checking again with the stumps camera, the Australian was given out and he departed for 39 runs.
