Watch: Mitchell Marsh’s brother Shaun and father Geoff celebrate all-rounder’s Ashes century

Geoff Marsh, father of Shaun and Mitchell has faced criticism for so many times over his son’s repeatedly getting lifelines in Australian cricket.
However on Thursday, Mitchell Marsh scored scintillating run-a-ball 118 rescued Australia from 85-4.
Marsh’s second Test century sent a sparking wild scenes in Bali where his older brother Shaun celebrates his 40th birthday on Sunday.

“He (Geoff) was mid-air when I found out that I was playing,” Marsh said, revealing his dad departed England earlier this week having led a supporters’ tour group to the first couple of Ashes Tests.

“To be honest, I don’t think he was missing the 40th, that’s much more exciting.
“All my family and all of our close friends are celebrating there with Shaun, so whilst they weren’t here the video (of them watching Mitchell reaching his century) is bloody great.”
Shaun Marsh was filmed going absolutely ballic at a bar with his family. “You beauty!” he can he heard screaming as he hugs what appears to be his father Geoff, who also played 50 Tests for Australia.
Mrash was plying his first Test in four years and was only picked as a backup for Cameron Green, who missed the Test due to hamstring injury. Marsh has excelled in Twenty20s and one-dayers since he was dropped from the test side in 2019. He had only four first-class matches in four years, but in the last one in March in Perth he scored an unbeaten 108.
Marsh was dropped Root spilled on 12. Marsh didn’t give another chance in a brilliant counterattack.
He hit 17 boundaries and four sixes, adding up to 92 runs of his 118.
He drove Broad through the covers, drove Woakes straight on, smashed Ollie Robinson behind point, and pulled a shoulder-high Wood bouncer over deep square for six.
