Tere Ishk Mein box office collection day 5: Earns Rs 71 crore

Tere Ishk Mein box office collection day 5: Aanand L Rai’s romantic drama Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has sprung another surprise on its first Tuesday, its fifth day at the domestic box office. A day after regering more than a 50% decline in its daily earnings on Monday, the film has bounced back on Tuesday with a 25% hike.
On Tuesday (day 5), Tere Ishk Mein earned Rs 10.25 crore, a significant improvement from its lowest single-day earnings of Rs 8.75 crore on Monday (day 4). That was a massive decline (54%) from its highest single-day earnings of Rs 19 crore on Sunday (day 3), a slight increase from its Saturday (day 2) figure of Rs 17 crore, which was in turn a marginal improvement on its opening day earnings of Rs 16 crore on Friday.
As per Sacnilk, the current box office collection of Tere Ishk Mein after five days in India stands at Rs 71 crore. Thus, it’s crossed the Rs 70 crore mark a day after surpassing the lifetime domestic box office earnings of Raanjhanaa (2013), its spiritual predecessor, which was also helmed Rai and starred Dhanush in the lead role of a jilted, unrequited lover.
Despite the presence of Dhanush, a Tamil superstar, and the score of AR Rahman, the share of its dubbed Tamil version in Tere Ishk Mein’s total domestic box office collection is quite low, at around Rs 3.75 crore. Thus, the original Hindi version accounts for about Rs 67.25 crore so far. However, it’s surpassed the lifetime domestic earnings of Dhanush’s last Tamil release, Idli Kadai, which he also directed and which earned Rs 50.48 crore at the Tamil and Telugu box office earlier this year.
Tere Ishk Mein has another couple of days to perform sans any major competition at the box office. On Friday, it’s sure to face fresh and stiff competition from Aditya Dhar’s action thriller Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh in the lead role, which is riding on tremendous pre-release buzz. If Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s film sustains its current momentum, it’ll at least surpass the lifetime domestic earnings of her last theatrical release, Rajesh A Krishnan’s 2023 he comedy Crew, which stands at Rs 81.7 crore.

Tere Ishk Mein has already surpassed the lifetime domestic earnings of Aanand L Rai’s 2022 family drama Raksha Bandhan, starring Akshay Kumar, which concluded its theatrical run at Rs 48.63 crore. Rai’s last collaboration with Dhanush, Atrangi Re (2021), also starred Kumar but it dropped directly on JioHotstar during the Covid-19 pandemic.
