However, current Olympic gold medal winner Pakan’s Arshad Nadeem won’t be a part of this tournament.
All eyes will also be on world record-holder and multiple-time Olympic champion Jan Zelezny of Czechia who is Neeraj’s coach to see if he can help the Indian athlete breach the 90 m mark. Zelezny is no stranger to the 90 m barrier with the javelin legend hitting 98.48m in his prime. Chopra, who has a personal best of 89.94m, will look to take advantage of training under one of the bests and finally achieve that feat, a long-held dream.
Joining Chopra in javelin will be Kishore Jena who is also in the mix alongside national record-holders Gulveer Singh and Parul Chaudhary who will be taking part in the men’s 5000m and women’s 3000m steeplechase events respectively, making this the country maximum representation ever in a DL event.
