WATCH: Team India’s ‘colorful fielding drill’ to sharpen catching reflexes ahead of the first Test against West Indies

‘Red!’ ‘White!’ ‘Blue!’
The shouts reverberated around the Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica as the Indian players participated in their new, unique fielding drill. A three sided training aid would be tossed in air and the one to do so would ask his teammate – the one supposed to catch – to get hold of the same a specific side, calling out the color. Red, white or blue.
With the catcher having to latch onto a specific color side, the drill seems one apt to work on hand-eye coordination and reflex. Here’s a video of the same:

India are set to face off against the West Indies in an all-format tour consing of two Tests, three ODIs and five T20Is – in that order.
While the Rohit Sharma-led side will take on the field for the first time since their World Test Championship Final defeat to Australia at The Oval last month, the West Indies also suffered a heartbreak in the ODI World Cup qualifiers and will miss out on the competition later this year in India, for the first time in their cricket hory.
West Indies’ performance mentor and former skipper Brian Lara however believes that his team stands chance to challenge the visitors.

“We have two very important Test matches which start the two-year cycle (World Test Championships) for us, it is against India. At home and away from home, they are one of the top teams in the world,” said Lara ahead of the first Test starting Wednesday, July 12.
