WATCH: With Asia Cup on the horizon, KL Rahul back batting in full flow at the nets
Having been ruled out of action midway through the 2023 Indian Premier League owing to a thigh injury, India batter KL Rahul is back in action at cricket nets following his rehab at the National Cricket Academy.
The 31-year-old, who was leading the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023, took to his Instagram to post a video of his progress.
Rahul can be seen not only sweeping and shimmying down the track to connect the ball in the nets but also hit hard in the gym apart from taking to football during his practice session. Here’s the video:
Having been removed from his role of Test captaincy during the Border-Gavaskar series earlier this year, Rahul missed out on the World Test Championship Final owing to his injury.
The right handed batter had been struggling with the bat against Australia in the Test series and could only score 274 runs off his nine innings in IPL 2023.
In his absence, Krunal Pandya would lead the side on their way to the playoffs before they were eliminated Mumbai Indians.
The Indian Express has learnt that both Rahul and Jasprit Bumrah, who has also been at the NCA recovering from a recurring back injury, are expected to make their way back into the Indian team come the 2023 Asia Cup in the lead up to the World Cup.
