Watch: Yuzvendra Chahal teaches Rajasthan Royals teammate Joe Root some dance moves

Rajasthan Royals player Joe Root, who is playing in the Indian Premier League for the first time ever, recently told compatriot Jos Buttler in an interview for IPL’s social media handles that Yuzvendra Chahal had been “looking after him” and he was “great fun to be around”.
Just how much fun the duo can get up to was evident as the two were seen shaking a leg together in another video posted the RR social media team. It was, as the Rajasthan Royals’ social media handle called it, a “Yuzi style welcome to the IPL”. In it, the spinner can be seen teaching Root some dance moves as a Hindi song plays on.
Root was bought the Rajasthan side for his base price of Rs 1 crore during the IPL 2023 mini auction. However, he is yet to play in a game as he did not find a spot in RR’s playing XI for the first two games against SunRisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings.
In the video posted IPL earlier in the week, Butler asks Root: “So everyone on social media’s been saying there’s a new friendship brewing between you and Yuzi. You actually like him, or like me, you entertain him and try and keep him at arm’s length?”
Root responded: “No, he’s great fun. I really enjoyed his company. Even though I have played a lot against him, I have never really gotten to know him before. I’m sure it’ll be entertaining throughout the tournament. He’s a good character.”
Butler also asked Root to name one player who he would like to avoid. The former England skipper jokingly said, Chahal.

In the conversation Root asked Butler to pick his best friend if it was him or Chahal to which Butler replied: “Tough choice. When I’m in India, Yuzi can take care of me. When I’m outside, you can be my best mate”.
Butler revealed that Root worked in “Sheffield Circus”.
Butler and Chahal have both had a great season for the franchise last time around, where the former won the orange cap and the latter won the purple cap as the side reach the final.

The Rajasthan Royals lost their second game to Punjab Kings and won the first game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They will face Delhi Capitals in their next game.
