‘We have to work on a lot of things’: Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim after losing 2-0 to Wolves | Football News
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim confessed that he had no idea on how long it will take to turn things around at the club which on Thursday suffered their 4th defeat in their last 5 Premier league matches, losing 2-0 to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
“We have to work on a lot of things in our club, inside the pitch and outside of the pitch, in each game and use every minute of training and game to improve,” Amorim said.
“I have to just take it day day, try and see the videos, using every minute of training to try and (help) us win some points,” he added.
United played almost the entire second half with 10 men after Fernandes collected his second yellow card in the 47th minute. It was the United captain’s third sending-off of the season, though one was rescinded.
Wolves’ first goal against United came direct from a corner, with Brazil striker Matheus Cunha seeing his kick curl over the head of goalkeeper Andre Onana and into the far corner in the 58th minute. They added the second goal through Hwang Hee-chan in the ninth minute of stoppage time.
United are currently 14th in the league with 22 points, 11 behind 4th-placed Arsenal. They will next host Newcastle United on Monday and then start off their New Year with a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on January 5th.
“They need time to change as they are changing completely and the way of playing is hard on them and it is also hard on the staff as well to pass all the information on. Then when you do not get the results that is even harder. We have to believe and we have to continue. It is a tough moment and we have to focus on the next game,” Amorim said on the players.
