I now have the chance to fulfil another childhood dream: Lewis Hamilton on joining Ferrari in 2025 | Motor-sport News

After shocking the world a couple of days ago when he revealed that he’ll be signing for Ferrari in 2025, Lewis Hamilton on Saturday said that he was ‘100% committed” to Mercedes until then.
“I feel incredibly fortunate, after achieving things with Mercedes that I could only have dreamed of as a kid, that I now have the chance to fulfil another childhood dream. Driving in Ferrari red,” Hamilton wrote on his Instagram account.
“I still remember the feeling of taking a leap of faith into the unknown when I first joined Mercedes in 2013,” he wrote. “I know some people didn’t understand it at the time, but I was right to make the move then and it’s the feeling I have again now. I’m excited to see what I can bring to this new opportunity and what we can do together,” he added.

Hamilton is one of the most successful racers in the hory of the sports winning 7 titles, six of which he won with Mercedes, most recently in 2020 before he was beaten in controversial circumstances Max Verstappen of Red Bull at the season finale in Abu Dhabi in 2021.
“I am more driven than ever, I am fitter and more focused than ever and I want to help Mercedes win once again,” he added. “I am 100% committed to the job I need to do and determined to end my partnership with the team on a high,” Hamilton wrote as a tribute to Mercedes.
On late Thursday night, Hamilton had revealed that he was joining Ferrari with a statement that read, “I have had an amazing 11 years with this team and I’m so proud of what we have achieved together. Mercedes has been part of my life since I was 13 years old.”
“It’s a place where I have grown up, so making the decision to leave was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. But the time is right for me to take this step and I’m excited to be taking on a new challenge,” he had added.
