As Australia and India prepare for the final of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 at the Narendra Modi stadium on Sunday all eyes again are on what kind of pitch will provided for the marquee event. Australian skipper Pat Cummins when asked about it on Saturday would reply saying ‘we’ll be ready in terms of anything they’ll throw at us”.
The response came as part of a question in the press conference if the pitch would give India an advantage. “It’s the same for both teams. No doubt playing on your wicket in your own country has some advantages, similar to wickets that you’ve been playing your whole life. But we’ve played a lot of cricket over here,” Cummins would say.

“I think, of all the venues, perhaps this venue – the toss isn’t as important as, say, a Mumbai Wankhede Stadium or other venues. So, we’ll be ready in terms of anything they’ll throw at us. Yeah, we’ll wait and see, but we’ll make sure we have some plans,” he added.
Earlier The Indian Express reported that the pitch will be sluggish where the ball after pitching will take its time to reach the batsman’s bat. the final is going to be played on the same pitch as the India vs Pakan game last month.Most Read

Speaking about how he thinks the pitch would play the Australian skipper would say “I’m not a great pitch reader, but it looked pretty firm. They’ve only just watered it, so yeah, give it another 24 hours and have a look, but it looks like a pretty good wicket.”
The Australian team boasts of a decent pace attack with Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood and Mitchell Starc forming a lethal fast bowling unit. However, the Indian team has the best pace bowling line-up in the recent past. Mohammed Shami has been on a roll along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
