A Congress leader on Monday died while he was demonstrating against Centre’s demonetisation move in Gwalior.
Darshan Singh suffered a cardiac arrest while he was taking part in Janakrosh rally, that was organised by the party for protesting the Narendra Modi government’s decision of demonetising high value currency on Monday.

He suffered heart attack after he submitted memorandum along with others to divisional commissioner. He was rushed to a private hospital but could not be saved.
Earlier in the day, Singh, the Congress city head had led a group of party workers from Phoolbagh square to Commissionerate as a part of protest march against currency ban. He along with others had walked till commissionerate on foot.
After Singh submitted memorandum to divisional commissioner SN Rupla, on the way back, he complained of chest pain and laid inside his vehicle. Panicked workers rushed him to a nearby private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Congress Madhya Pradesh president Arun Yadav condoled Singh’s death.
Notably, prior to this, several bank customers and bank staffers have died post demonetisation chaos in various parts of Madhya Pradesh.
