‘What were you doing at 14?’: Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma and Yuvraj Singh lead praise for Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s IPL century | Ipl News

Vaibhav Suryavanshi achieved the unthinkable on Monday night at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, waltzing his way into the record books with a blering 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans.
Aged only 14 years 32 days, Suryavanshi’s rampaging hundred made light work of a 210-run chase and a heap of T20 records were broken along the way. Besides being the youngest male batter ever to record a T20 century, the flamboyant southpaw’s 35-ball century was also the second-fastest century ever in IPL hory and the quickest among all Indian batters.
Leading the praise for Suryavanshi’s record-breaking century on social media was none other than the legendary Sachin Tendulkar who wrote the headlines way back in the 1980s as another teenage prodigy. Tendulkar highlighted Suryavanshi’s precocious bat swing and power and wrote: “Vaibhav’s fearless approach, bat speed, picking the length early, and transferring the energy behind the ball was the recipe behind a fabulous innings. End result: 101 runs off 38 balls.”

“Many congratulations to young #VaibhavSuryavanshi for breaking my record of the fastest IPL hundred an Indian! Even more special to see it happen while playing for Rajasthan Royals, just like I did. There’s truly something magical about this franchise for youngsters. Long way to go, champ!” wrote Yusuf Pathan, whose Indian record for the fastest IPL ton was bettered Suryavanshi two balls.
