When is the Dubai Fountain reopening? Here is what Emaar said | World News

Emaar Properties has rejected claims on social media that the Dubai Fountain, one of the iconic landmarks of the Emirates, which has been closed since April this year, will reopen soon.
‘Construction progress as scheduled’
“There is no confirmed reopening date for Dubai Fountain at this stage. Based on the current pace of works, we expect progress to continue in line with the schedule. Should there be any formal update, it will be shared through our official channels,” Emaar told Gulf News in a statement.
Photos, videos spark speculations
The clarification came after videos went viral on social media showing the Dubai Fountain, located in Downtown Dubai, being filled with water, fuelling speculations that it is ready to reopen.

What is Dubai Fountain
Located at the base of Burj Khalifa in the Dubai Mall, the Dubai Fountain is the world’s largest choreographed fountain and can spray 83,000 litres of water in the air at any moment. Ever since it was opened to the public in May 2009, the Dubai Fountain has become a must-see attraction in the city.
In April, the Dubai Fountain was closed for repair and Emaar had announced that it will reopen in October.
What are the changes in Dubai Fountain
In June, Emaar posted a video on social media giving an update on the construction works underway at the Dubai Fountain.
According to Emaar, one of the main upgrades is the installation of a brand-new flooring system to replace the previous one, which was prone to occasional cracking. The new flooring promises to make it more durable and visually striking design.

Other upgrades include new screens to enhance the visitor experience in the area surrounding the Mall and Burj Khalifa.
