When Moushumi Chatterjee refused to shoot a bathing scene with 54-year-old Raaj Kumar: ‘If your wig comes off, who will you hold?’ | Bollywood News

In 1980, the film Chambal Ki Kassam hit the theaters with much anticipation. The film boasted a stellar cast featuring Raaj Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha, Moushumi Chatterjee, Farida Jalal, Amjad Khan, and Ranjeet in key roles. Despite the ensemble line-up and the hype surrounding its release, the film failed miserably at the box office. However, while audiences may not remember the film for its story, the cast retained fond and amusing memories from their time shooting it. One such incident involved the legendary actor Raaj Kumar and actress Moushumi Chatterjee, which was later recalled actor Ranjeet.
In an earlier episode of The Kapil Sharma Show, Ranjeet shared an anecdote from the sets of the film. He narrated how the cast was staying in a guest house near a river during the shoot. “We were sitting together when Raaj Kumar suddenly suggested, ‘Jaani, why don’t you shoot a scene of Moushumi and me bathing in the river?’” Ranjeet recalled. Moushumi, taken aback the suggestion, quickly responded, “No, Raaj ji, I don’t know how to swim.” To reassure her, Raaj Kumar replied in his trademark style, “Jaani, I will be there with you, why do you worry?”
