When MS Dhoni jokingly told Axar Patel to repair his planetary situation, but also really guided him to improve mindset

Axar Patel had approached MS Dhoni at a time when the Delhi Capitals captain was struggling to acquire the perfect mindset to becoming a match winning bowler. Speaking to Delhi Capitals, the offspinner recalled how Dhoni had joked about getting his planetary dashaa (horoscope horrors) cured with rituals, since wicket taking balls were not yielding returns.
“I have a very close connection with Mahi Bhai since when he was India captain,” Axar told DC as pictures of him with the former multiple World Cup winning captain, were revived. “I used to share my thoughts with him. But after World Cup, and Champions Trophy I got his message,” Axar told DC.
Their association however dates back to four years ago, during the 2021 T20 World Cup. “But even before that in the 2021 T20 World Cup he came as mentor and then I had talked to him about how my mind set nahi ho raha hai (I’m not getting the right thought process). After that you can see the results. So a bit of credit goes to Mahi Bhai for changing mindset,” he told his team.

“(MSD) He had told me tere gruh (planets) thoda idhar udhar chal rahe hai. (Planets are moving here and there). You either get a good ball but things go awry. So he said get some vidhi-nidhi done (planet repairing rituals are required),” Axar joked.
Delhi Capitals who appointed a new captain this season are currently second on the table behind Punjab Kings. DC have two wins from two games.
Axar would also clarify that Dhoni preferred to contact players personally saying, “There is life beyond social media.”
