‘Who’ll catch them? I am not too sure’: Kate Cross on Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians
England seamer Kate Cross is unsure about any team-stopping league leaders Mumbai Indians captained Harmanpreet Kaur in the ongoing inaugural season of the Women’s Premiere League (WPL) season.
The 31-year-old said, “Mumbai have been absolutely formidable. They look complete in every single department. They dropped a few catches early and that’s the only thing you can say about tonight that they didn’t get perfect. They’ve been a brilliant team to watch. Who’ll catch them? I am not too sure…”
“To win three games the margins they’ve had, I can’t imagine how smug Harmanpreet must be feeling right now because they’ve been fantastic. The tone was set with how they bowled, how Wong bowled, and how Ishaque bowled. They just had this plan and they executed it, that’s all you can ask for as a captain. They managed to pick up the wickets, which was the bonus on top of executing the plan,” she added.

The comments came after all-round Mumbai Indians asserted their supremacy in the thrashing of Delhi Capitals in a top-of-the-table clash.
Saika Ishaque, Isabelle Wong and Hayley Matthews, who all took three wickets apiece, led Mumbai Indians’ charge with the ball to bundle out Delhi Capitals for a mere 105 in 18 overs.
With a small target to chase, Mumbai romped home to their third win in a row in 15 overs with captain Harmanpreet Kaur (11 not out) and Nat Sciver-Brunt (23 not out) taking them past the finish line.
Chasing 106, the opening pair of Yastika Bhatia (41) and Hayley Matthews (32) knocked off 47 runs in the powerplay and shared 65 runs for the first wicket to ensure a big win for their team. For Delhi, it was their first loss of the inaugural season.
