Mbappé’s lawyer Delphine Verheyden was quoted as saying the AP: “This story has been going on for just over a year now. One year was the deadline we set for ourselves for trying to resolve this dispute as peacefully as possible. As months went , Kylian Mbappé still hasn’t been paid the missing 55 million euros. A decision has been taken, this time to go on the attack.”
Mbappé’s camp has also appealed to the French Football Federation to ‘inform’ UEFA of the unpaid wages, which they claim is in breach of the European football governing body’s rules. Verheyden said that if found guilty, PSG could lose the license that allows them to play in the Champions League.
PSG said in a statement that it wants an ‘amicable’ resolution to the dispute and alleged that Mbappé acted in ‘bad faith.’
