Yoga instructor in US goes missing after blind date. What happened next | World News

A 45-year-old American man who disappeared after a blind date last month has been found dead. Marcus Freiberger’s body was discovered at a rock quarry in Phoenix on March 19, nearly a month after he was last seen.
According to the New York Post, Freiberger’s ser, Tina Hall, confirmed the tragic news in a Facebook post: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the tragic news that Marcus is no longer with us. Losing him feels like losing a part of ourselves, and I know this will be just as difficult for you. We thank all of you for the love and support you have given Marcus and our family.”
Freiberger, a yoga instructor from Arizona, had been missing since February 21, the night of his blind date. Concern grew when his friends realized his two-year-old dog had been left alone in his apartment for days. They reported his disappearance to police on March 14, leading to a search that ended with the discovery of his remains.

The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner identified his body on March 25 using fingerprint records from the FBI database, The Post reported. Authorities have classified the case as a death investigation, with the cause of death still pending.
Freiberger was last seen driving a white 2021 GMC Sierra pickup truck with Arizona license plate 3MA66L at a Phoenix parking garage. Police have not disclosed whether they located his vehicle or identified the person he met on the date.
His father described him as “handsome, young, ambitious, heavily loved and liked friends” and expressed frustration over the lack of answers. “We just want to know what happened. Marcus was a great kid. He was truly loved a lot of people. The amount of shares on Facebook on his missing person’s report—it’s amazing how many people knew Marcus.”
While the circumstances of his disappearance remain unclear, his father suspects foul play, pointing to the unusual fact that his dog was abandoned.Story continues below this ad
