US President Donald Trump, who is on a trip to Japan, met Japan’s first woman Prime Miner, Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo on Tuesday and said that he has “always had a great love and respect for Japan”.

Takaichi kicked off the meeting with a warm welcome of the US president and said that she hoped the meeting would mark “a new golden age of the Japan-US alliance”. During the meeting, Trump told Takaichi that becoming the nation’s first woman Prime Miner was “a big deal” and that she would become “one of the great Prime Miners” of Japan.
Takaichi also praised Trump’s peace efforts in the middle east during the Gaza war between the Hamas and Israel.
