Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and popular radio jockey and influencer RJ Mahvash have sparked fresh buzz online after unfollowing each other on Instagram. The sudden move comes months after persent rumours linked the two romantically in the aftermath of Chahal’s divorce from choreographer Dhanashree Verma. While neither has commented on the development yet, a quick check confirms that the duo no longer appears on each other’s follower ls — setting social media abuzz with speculation.
The update was first highlighted celebrity paparazzo Varinder Chawla, who shared the unfollowing drama on Instagram. Soon after, netizens jumped into detective mode. While some users claimed the two had unfollowed each other earlier, others suggested that a new chapter of “Instagram drama” might be unfolding.
Chahal and Mahvash have remained in the spotlight ever since the cricketer’s much-publicised and emotionally charged divorce. Not long after the split, the two were frequently spotted together — from Mahvash cheering for Chahal at IPL matches to their reported lunch and dinner outings. Despite the growing chatter, both consently denied being in a relationship.
Earlier, during a conversation with Raj Shamani, Chahal addressed the speculation, saying, “It happened for the first time that I was seen with someone in public, so people started speculating. We can’t start crying — if people link us up, then so be it.”

He further revealed how the rumours affected Mahvash. “She was called a house-breaker, homewrecker, and all sorts of bad names. People kept asking why she was with Yuzi. I felt bad that a friend who helped me get through a tough phase was being dragged into this. Even when we were out with a group of friends, only our cropped photos were used. Eventually, we stopped going out because we feared another story would pop up,” he shared.
RJ Mahvash, too, had firmly shut down the dating rumours through her Instagram stories. Calling the speculation “baseless,” she wrote, “If you are seen with someone of the opposite gender, does that automatically mean you’re dating? I’m sorry, what year is this? And how many people are you all dating then?”Story continues below this ad
She also took a swipe at alleged PR narratives, adding, “I’ve been patient for 2–3 days, but I won’t let any PR teams drag my name into this to protect someone else’s image. Let people live in peace with their friends and family during tough times.”
Her clarification came shortly after she had shared pictures with Chahal from their Chrmas lunch in 2024 — a post that had further fuelled speculation at the time.
