Zookeepers use frog toy to feed ba giraffe. Here’s why | Trending
The caretakers or zookeepers working at rescue centres or zoos across the world often have to be creative while taking care of animals, especially the babies. One such story was recently posted on the official Instagram page of Omaha’s Zoo & Aquarium. They shared how their caretakers use a stuffed frog toy to convince a ba giraffe to drink her food.

“She’s ‘hoovin’ in the right direction, you guys! Our giraffe calf is now taking a bottle from her caretakers. Calves, instinctually, look to suckle under the shadow of their mother’s belly. This particular frog stuffy helps us create this effect during our feedings, which occur four to five times a day with about four hours in between each,” they wrote. In the next few lines they explained how they prepare the special formula for the little animal. Alongside, they posted several images and a video of the ba giraffe.
