India at Asian Games 2023, Day 2 schedule: Women’s cricket team eye gold, shooting and rowing medals at stake | Sport-others News
On the opening day, India’s rowers and shooters kickstarted India’s medal tally in Hangzhou with a total of five medals between them. Monday will see the medal tally improve, with a guaranteed podium finish in women’s T20 cricket where India take on Sri Lanka in the final. Attention will also be on shooters and rowers to add to the medal tally.Here are the main events to track on Day 2 of the Asian Games (Monday, all times in ):
Cricket: Indian women face Sri Lanka (11.30 am)
A familiar sight for cricket fans with another Asian cricket final between India and Sri Lanka. Smriti Mandhana and Co overcame Bangladesh comfortably while Sri Lanka too were impressive in their win against Pakan. The final is likely to see the return of Harmanpreet Kaur to lead the side as India eye a gold medal.
Shooting: Rifle hopes on men (6.30 am)
After the women’s team impressed on Sunday, the attention will move to the male rifle shooters. In 10m air rifle, Divyansh Singh Panwar, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and world champion Rudrankksh Patil will look for team glory as well as individual medals. The men’s 25m rapid fire event second phase will take place with Anish placed well to reach final and the team in line for a podium finish too.
Rowing: More medals at stake (7 am onwards)
Men’s singles Sculls, Men’s Four, Men’s Quadruple Sculls, Women’s Eight finals will see Indians competing in the main medal races. After three medals on the opening day in rowing, can the rowers add more?
