If Bumrah won’t get you, Siraj will, if Siraj doesn’t then Shami will: Wasim Akram | Cricket-world-cup News
Legendary Pakan cricketer Wasim Akram has hailed Indian pace attack as “world best” and lauded “leader of the pack” Jasprit Bumrah for setting the tone after India thrashed South Africa 243 runs at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. “Bumrah ne nachaya hua tha yaar,” Wasim Akram on A Sports said about Jasprit Bumrah’s opening burst to Quinton de Kock.
“Quinton de Kock was not comforbale in the first over. He was cutting him in half. With pace above 140 on this slow pitch. It was the control of Bumrah. He started bowling from outside the stumps then ended bowling on the stumps. He kept de Kock on his toes. Look at the length (back of the length) we always talk about, he bowled. He was unlucky that he didn’t get the wicket, but he indeed is the leader of this pack,” said Wasim.

Wasim Akram said the trio of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj are currently best in the World.
“If Bumrah won’t get you, Siraj will, if Siraj doesn’t then Shami will. As a unit, they have got this confidence that they are the best. They are not showing over aggression but controlled aggression as fast bowlers,” said Akram.
Speaking about Bumrah’s first over to De Kock, Malik said: “Quinton de Kock must have faced Bumrah thousand of times as both have played for the Mumbai Indians. Still look at the quality of Bumrah, despite facing him so many time, De Kock was not looking comfortable against him.”
Former Pakan captain and wicketkeeper Moin Khan said the pressure was created Jasprit Bumrah after the way he kep Quinton de Kock qu, who has scored four centuries in the World Cup so far.
“Pressure was created Bumrah. The in-form batter, who has scored four hundreds in this tournament was on backfoot,” said Moin.

Misbah credited Bumrah for not allowing the opening baters in this tournament getting settled down. He said: “The most important thing is that in the first two balls, you take time to settle down .. how much it is swinging but Bumrah doesn’t give you time. He is bowling outswinger from the leg stump. You don’t see such control, it’s remarkable.”
Akram spoke about Mohammed Shami and how he has made life difficult for the batters in this World Cup with his bowling.
“Shami is not even bowling with new ball. He is moving the ball both way from the back of the length spot. There is a subtle change in his seam. We always talk about seam and swing and we can see what is the difference between Shami and the rest. Bumrah is swinging the ball, where as Shamiis hitting the seam. Now If you see Haris Rauf’s seam he bowls with a wobble one or cross,” said Akram. Most Read

Moin further explained why Shami has been so effective in this tournament.
“The more seam will hit on the pitch, the more it will move. We have seen Siraj and then the way Shami bowled. He is trying to hit the deck with seam and if your line and length is good than automatically ball will move,” said Moin.
Shoaib Malik chipped in and said: “The ball before Siraj got De Kock out, the inside edge hit him on the foot. You see the seam positions. It is so perfect. All three of them are in-form.”
