BJP will win in Gujarat: Narottam Mishra
BHOPAL: MP minister for public relations and water resources Narottam Mishra is making all efforts to ensure that his party wins 26 seats in South Gujarat in the assembly polls, the region which has been assigned to him. “I am a party soldier who has been given work in four districts of South Gujarat. This is an altogether remarkable experience where we witness stalwarts like Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister has his own charm. He speaks in Gujarati and with confidence. With only two days left for polling, I think that the results would be favourable to BJP”, Mishra told TOI over phone.
Mishra is the first cabinet minister of Madhya Pradesh who has been assigned party work despite his disqualification by the Election Commission in an alleged paid news case which he has challenged in the Supreme Court. Earlier, the saffron party had chosen former minister Kailash Vijayavargiya as in-charge of West Bengal, but it was only after he resigned from the state cabinet and appointed national general secretary. “The party chose me for managing poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh. Thereafter, I have been assigned the task in South Gujarat to strengthen the party”, Mishra had said about his new assignment sometimes back.
IN the case of UP, being from Chambal region Mishra was accustomed to Bundelkhand region of both Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. But south Gujarat is an altogether new experience for him. “The major work comes during the public meeting of Prime Minister who is leaving no stone unturned to reach every person in the constituency. He speaks on local issues and gets support for his initiatives. We have so much to learn from him”, he said.
