CM: MAKE BHOPAL CITY BASED ON CULTURE, VALUES

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged citizens of Bhopal for their cooperation to make Bhopal a city based on Indian culture and values. He mentioned that Bhopal should also establish its identity as an iconic city of high cultural values.

Chouhan was addressing the Bhoomi Poojan programme of Government multi storey residential buildings, under the area based development works being carried out by the Bhopal Smart City Development Corporation here today. He laid foundation of incubation center, integrated control and command center beside other works costing Rs 500 crore.

Chouhan stated that construction works of over Rs 18,000 crore are being carried out to transform Bhopal into a modern city. He exhorted the citizens, not to leave any effort incomplete for making Bhopal as one of the best city, not only of the country but of the World. He said that he will leave no stone unturned to make Bhopal a slum free city.

Chouhan mentioned that 51,894 houses are being constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas yojana, which are being provided to the needy persons. Over 1,33,000 houses have already been constructed. Over Rs 1,000 crore is being spent to make Bhopal a modern city. He administered pledge to the citizens to make Bhopal no; 1 city of the country in Swachchta survey.

Chouhan distributed residential pattas to the eligible beneficiaries under the Mukhya Mantri Ashray Yojana. He said that poor will not be deprived of houses; they will also lead a dignified life. Chouhan further mentioned that the government has paid attention towards the employees and every section of the society.

Referring to the Shaurya Smarak, Chief Minister said that Samark has become an inspiration source of patriotism now. He mentioned that the land has been allotted for the construction of Bharat Mata Mandir complex. Statue of Rani Kamlapati will also be erected. Chouhan stated that Bhopal will be known as a city, which gives inspiration for patriotism.

Minister in-charge of Bhopal district Gopal Bhargava said that the Chief Minister Chouhan is fulfilling the dream of Smart Cities of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He mentioned that besides making Bhopal a smart city, the city will also be made smart in education, culture and civic duties.

Minister for Revenue Umashankar Gupta said that the smart city in the midst of naturally rich beautiful city will be pride of Bhopal. Mayor ALok Sharma informed that a roadmap for the development of the smart city has been made, keeping in view the future requirements.

Collector Bhopal and Chairman of the Smart City Corporation Sudam Khade, while informing about the projects of the smart city, said that 9 projects have already been completed and the remaining 22 will be completed in near future. Incubation center and integrated control and command center will be main attraction of the project. All the digital services will be made available at one place in the integrated control and command center to monitor city transportation. A film based on the structure and design of the smart city was also exhibited on the occasion.

Bhoomi Poojan programme concluded with mantras chanting. Former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, Minister of State for Cooperative Vishwas Sarang, MLA Surendra Nath Singh, President Municipal Corporation Surjeet Singh Chouhan, Chairman Madhya Pradesh Matikala Board Ramdayal Prajapati and eminent citizens in large number were present on the occasion.
