Russia’s three-day ceasefire in Ukraine takes effect | World News

Russian President Vladimir Putin’s order for three-day truce with Ukraine takes effect, said sources, cited news agency AFP.
This comes after Ukraine launched drone attacks on Russia and targeted Moscow as Russian air defence units destroyed several Ukrainian drones while the Kremlin also shut down all four major airports in Moscow, Reuters reported quoting officials on Tuesday.
The Kremlin said on Tuesday that Russian forces still planned to cease fire in Ukraine from May 8-10 as per President Vladimir Putin’s orders, but would respond if Ukrainian forces tried to strike Russian positions.
India has been in touch with the US, Russia, Ukraine and European leaders over the last few months, especially after Trump assumed office. Prime Miner Narendra Modi has met both Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin since July last year.
