Amitabh Bachchan makes 47% profit selling two flats for Rs 12 crore, 13 years after buying them | Bollywood News

Amitabh Bachchan has recently sold two luxurious apartments in Mumbai that he purchased back in 2012, and the real estate deal has turned out to be highly profitable for the veteran actor. The two apartments are located in Mumbai’s Goregaon locality, within the Oberoi Exquisite complex, a project developed Oberoi Realty, owned Swades actor Gayatri and her husband Vikas Oberoi. Amitabh Bachchan bought the two flats for Rs 8.12 crore in 2012, and after 13 years, he made a 47% profit selling them for Rs 6 crore each. Both units also included four parking spots.
The first sale was officially regered on October 31, 2025, with stamp duty and regration charges amounting to Rs 30.3 lakh. The second flat’s regration followed the next day.

Both Amitabh and his son Abhishek Bachchan maintain a keen interest in real estate, frequently buying and selling properties. For instance, in January 2025, Amitabh sold a 5,185 sq ft duplex at The Atlantis in Andheri for Rs 83 crore. In May 2025, he purchased his fourth property in Ayodhya, worth Rs 40 crore, adding to his assets, which now total over Rs 1,500 crore. This year, Bachchan also invested Rs 10 crore each in a real estate firm owned Bollywood producer Anand Pandit.
In recent years, Bachchan has been heavily investing in real estate. Last year, he, along with Abhishek, purchased 10 apartments in Mulund West, a central suburban area in Mumbai, valued at Rs 25 crore in total. Big B’s wife and Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan also revealed the total worth of the couple’s assets in 2024, as required for the election affidavit. According to the declaration, the Bachchans’ combined assets are valued at Rs 1,578 crore.
