Ravindra Jadeja teases Sanjay Manjrekar as the two bury differences with funny banter after 2nd T20I

Almost everyone is updated about what brewed between former cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja during the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. Before India took on eventual runners-up New Zealand in the semi-finals, Manjrekar termed the Indian all-rounder as ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer.

Manjrekar’s comments weren’t taken lightly by Jadeja. He replied by writing on his official Twitter handle, “Still i have played twice the number of matches you have played and i m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.i have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea.”

However, the comments from Manjrekar fired up Jadeja, who slammed an impressive 59-ball 77 in the semi-final clash versus New Zealand and almost managed to take India past the finish line.

It has been months since the incident became a hot topic of discussion among cricket fans. After India’s second T20I win versus New Zealand on Sunday (January 26) at Eden Park, Auckland, both Manjrekar and Jadeja were involved in a funny banter on the social media platform, Twitter, and it seems the two have moved on from the past and have let bygones be bygones.

Just like Manjrekar, even former opener Virender Sehwag had mentioned that Ravindra Jadeja could have been given the Man-of-the-Match award (eventually given to KL Rahul) post the Auckland encounter. Jadeja (4-0-18-2) and Jasprit Bumrah (4-0-21-1) were the most economical of the lot and set up the base for India’s victory as they combined to restrict the Black Caps for 132 for 5.

In reply, Indian opener Rahul (57 not out) and Shreyas Iyer (44) led the charge in the moderate run-chase as the Virat Kohli-led side managed to end the proceedings with 7 wickets and 15 balls to spare.

The third T20I will be held on Wednesday (January 29) at Seddon Park, Hamilton. India are leading the five-match series 2-0.
