CM Adityanath cancels leaves of over 16,000 ambulance operators
Aiming to provide an efficient ambulance service to the masses, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued directives to cancel the leaves of over 16,000 ambulance operators under 102 and 108 fleet. The CM has also instructed officials to dedicate half thee fleet of 108 ambulance services for COVID-19 patients and set a response time for these vehicles at 15 minutes or less.
“The state machinerymust be equipped to serve all its citizens. Improve the response time and bring down the number of cancelled calls due to non-availability of ambulances for various reasons. The priority of the government is to make sure every person suffering from illness is made to reach the hospital from home as soon as possible and get immediate treatment,” Yogi directed the officials. The 102 and 108 ambulance services have emerged as a ‘boon’ for not only Covid patients but also for people suffering from other diseases.
Government records suggested that from March 22 to April 22, a total of 2,09,484 people benefited from the 108 emergency ambulance services across the state. Also, as many as 20,78,190 patients suffering from other diseases were provided treatment. During the same time period, a total of 46,68,670 patients suffering from various other diseases were provided treatment through 102 ambulance service. Amid the worrying surge in coronavirus infections across the state, hospitals and other institutions have come under a lot of preessure. In a bid to make emergency ambulance services more useful, the Yogi government has also worked towards equipping them with medical equipment to serve critical patients in emergencies while rushing them to the nearest hospitals.
