Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday reviewed the condition of Covid infection in the municipalities of Bilaspur, Surguja and Bastar divisions and called for cleanliness and prompt treatment of patients.
He reviewed the condition in the 25 municipalities of the three divisions through video conference. Chairmen and Chief Municipal Officers of all these municipalities joined him.
Baghel has been overseeing the Covid prevention and control measures being taken in the state. He studied the situation in Raipur and Durg divisions on April 25.
The Chief Minister urged officials to pay special attention towards cleanliness, availability of pure drinking water and prompt treatment of patients in all municipal councils. He emphasized regular cleaning of every street and neighbourhood of urban bodies. He called for sustainable supply of drinking water in urban areas during the ongoing summer season.
He added that in view of the rising number of Covid cases, medicine kits should be made available to people immediately based on the appearance of symptoms. This would help in containing the infection, preventing any serious condition. Baghel gave permission for the recruitment of doctors in Sakti and Kharsia. He wanted immediate availability of oxygen-equipped beds in the municipal councils of Ratanpur and Takhatpur.
