Meanwhile, participating in Van Mahotsav on Sunday, Governor Anandiben Patel established a Smiriti Vatika in Jhansi and planted multi-use plants rich in nutrients and medicinal properties. The total number of saplings planted in the vatika was about 5,000.
The chief minister announced that the state government was working on an action plan along Purvanchal Expressway so that the youth could get jobs in the state without having to venture to other states for employment and thereby contribute towards the development of UP.
“The youth of Uttar Pradesh will contribute towards making it a $1-billion economy,” he said.
Elaborating on the plan, Yogi said that Purvanchal Expressway was going to serve as the backbone of the economy of eastern Uttar Pradesh and the state government was working towards providing wider employment opportunities and jobs and boosting industrialisation in the eastern region of the state.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh will become the largest economy in India in the near future. Keeping Purvanchal Expressway in mind, the state government has decided to develop five industrial clusters at five different locations, where industries will be set up. There will be IT and Textile parks at some places, ODOP parks at others which would provide jobs to a large number of youths,” the Chief Minister added.
Later, Yogi also worshiped a 100- year old banyan tree in this area, and accorded it the status of a ‘Heritage Tree’, He said all such trees would be identified and protected across the state.
The chief minister also appealed to the people to adhere to Covid protocol religiously as the COVID-19 pandemic was not yet over but it had been controlled to a great extent in the state with public support.
“The state government is providing all facilities from testing to vaccination to timely sanitisation. Please do not be careless, listen to the surveillance committees and follow their advice. Get vaccinated, as the vaccine is the only protective shield against novel coronavirus,” Yogi said.
