CM Yogi launches MyGovUP portal

Aimed at enhancing public communication with the Uttar Pradesh government, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched MyGovUP portal on Monday on which the citizens could share their opinion on the government’s policy and the government could receive feedback on programmes of public interest.

Basically, https://up.mygov.in/ is a platform to disseminate the schemes of governance and to know the opinion of common citizens on them.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that democracy was a system of governance of the people, for the people and by the people.

“Prior to 2014, public participation in the government was negligible, there was no place for the feelings and thoughts of the common citizen. But in July 2014, within two months of the formation of the Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party government, the platform ‘MyGov’ was launched. The platform launched by the prime minister to realise the spirit of democracy through technology, has played a big role in achieving the goal of good governance,” he said.

Praising the team of ‘MyGov’, Yogi said, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, we realised the use of technology and how together we can reach the benefits of the schemes of governance with complete transparency and honesty to crores of people. The portal will encourage innovative ideas from the youths, discussing policies and the people would benefit by joining this platform of the Uttar Pradesh government.”

Union Minister for Communications and Electronics Ashwini Vaishnav said, “MyGov is a step towards digital democracy. In the last seven years, this platform has played an important role in making public views the basis of the policies of the government. Today the portal completes its seven years. On such a special occasion, the arrival of the country’s largest state, Uttar Pradesh, on this platform, will further expand its success.”

CEO of MyGov, Abhishek Singh, also gave a brief overview of MyGov’s journey of seven years and expressed his gratitude towards the Uttar Pradesh government for joining it as the 15th state.
