Localization mode adopted for development: Baghel
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Sunday said that utilizing local talent, youth and local resources, the Chhattisgarh model of development will be further expanded. It will help the state to become prosperous.
He was addressing his monthly radio talk ‘Lokvani’ on ‘Chalking a new path of development at district level’ which was aired through radio and regional news channels.
To generate employment opportunities at the local level, the district administration plays a key role. The strategy is to utilize local weather, soil and specialities to the maximum to come up innovative modes like tea gardens in Jashpur a la Assam.
Baghel highlighted the story of Labed village of Korba district where 25 years ago an earthen dam was built to provide water for farming. Now, 419 acres is irrigated instead of the earlier 210 acres.
The preliminary map and records of 19 villages of Narayanpur district is being prepared in collaboration with IIT Roorkee. All records are updated online. The benefits of government schemes are extended to the tribal population based on preliminary records, he said.
As an initiative, overdue loans worth about Rs 13 crores of women self-help groups have been waived off. A convenient system of public grievance redressal system has been developed in Surajpur district.
Under the ‘Jan Samvad’ initiative, any citizen can register his grievance through a call centre. A copy of the application is taken on WhatsApp. The issue is resolved in 24 hours, said the Chief Minister.
