AAP claims massive support to its membership drive

Aam Aadmi Party state chief Sabhajeet Singh said that his party’s ‘UP Jodo’ (Connect UP) membership drive was gaining massive support and more than 14 lakh people had joined AAP in the week-long campaign that started on July 8.

He said that several leaders of different political parties were in touch with the AAP brass and they would join the party soon.
The AAP had launched a membership drive in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh on July 8.
“Preliminary inputs have been very encouraging and people are excited to join the AAP as they are very impressed with the party’s ideology and the Kejriwal model of governance in Delhi. Our party has always highlighted basic issues and has struggled for the common man and this also drew the people of the state towards AAP,” he said.
Criticising the Yogi Adityanath government in UP, Singh said that people were reeling under a spurt in crime, corruption, unemployment and inflation.
“The AAP aims at tapping this public anger and hopelessness against the ruling party and the initial results are encouraging,” he added.

We have set up camps in villages and blocks and party leaders and members are contacting people personally and making them aware of the AAP’s scheme of things. We are getting support from people on our missed call system also,” the AAP leader said. Singh praised the efforts being made by party workers and leaders and said that AAP would attain the magic figure of making one crore members in the state and also come out with flying colours when the state goes to the hustings in 2022.
