Can Continue Strike if They Want- Baghel on Employee Federation Strike

State govt employees call for an indefinite strike starting from today.No demands will be accepted further- Baghel on strike The state govt employees are demanding a hike in DA and HRA as par 7th Pay Commission.

Raipur: CM Buphesh Baghel responding to the question media reporters on the strike its state employees, he asserted that the state adminration will no longer accept demands. He further enled the amendments the state adminration had brought in support of the its employees.

More then 4 lakh state govt employees under the aegis of Chhattisgarh Karmchari Adhikari Federation (CGKAF). have begun an indefinite stirke from today at the Indravati Bhawan. Agitations were also held at Budha Talab picket site.

The employees are demanding Dearness Allowance(DA) at par with the Central Government employees and hike in House Rent Allowance. Over 80 employee associations under the banner of Chhattisgarh Employees – Officers Federation are participating in this strike. The employees demand the revision of the HRA as per the 7th Pay Commission.

CGKAF patron Vijay Jha said that the Chhattisgarh governments’ recent hike in DA was not sufficient. “We are also fighting for the arrears to be paid from January 1, 2020 from when the Central government declared DA for its employees. We have been given the DA from the present date and the arrears of 22 months are still pending,” he said. Judicial Employees’ Association, revenue staff and teachers from govt schools have staged solidarity with the protestors.

The protests have impacted works of as many as 52 govt departments for which the state govt has instructed collectors to continue with alternative arrangements.
