BJP state working committee meeting on July 7 in Lucknow
With Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections just six months away, the Bharatiya Janata Party will hold its one-day state working committee meeting virtually in Lucknow on July 7 and it is likely to be attended by senior party leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The one-day meeting is likely to be inaugurated by BJP national president JP Nadda and working committee members of the BJP state unit will connect from their respective districts. A roadmap for the upcoming state elections is likely to be prepared and a political resolution is to be passed in this meeting.
The meeting is being held after the visit of BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and party’s UP in-charge Radha Mohan Singh to Lucknow. There were several rounds of meetings during their stay in the state capital after which many expansions were made at organisational level, including appointment of former IAS officer AK Sharma as the BJP state vice-president. Archana Mishra and Amit Balmiki were also made state ministers.
BJP UP unit chief Swatantra Dev Singh also made some key appointments, including Pranshu Dutt Dwivedi (Farrukhabad) as president of BJP Yuva Morcha UP unit, Rajya Sabha MP Geeta Shakya (Auraiya) to Mahila Morcha, Kameshwar Singh (Gorakhpur) to Kisan Morcha, Narendra Kashyap, former MP (Ghaziabad) to Backward Classes Front, MP Kaushal Kishore to Scheduled Castes Front, Sanjay Gond (Gorakhpur) to Scheduled Tribe Morcha and Kunwar Basit Ali (Meerut) as state chief of Minority Morcha.
